Refund policy

Effective Date: September 26, 2025

At What We Leave, each kit is carefully packaged to help you capture and preserve your memories. Because our products include consumable items (such as film, prompt cards, albums, and other keepsake materials), we generally do not accept returns or issue refunds once an order has shipped.

1. Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or missing items, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@whatweleave.com.
We may request photos to verify the issue. Depending on the situation, we will:

Send a replacement item at no cost, or
Issue a refund to your original payment method.

2. Lost Shipments

Once an order has been handed to the carrier, we are not responsible for delays or lost packages.
If your order appears lost in transit, we’ll help you contact the carrier.

3. Film Use Disclaimer

If you do not follow the directions or use your camera correctly, we cannot offer refunds.
Using film naturally involves some variability in results — dissatisfaction with photo outcomes is not a valid reason for a refund.
Film is sensitive to heat and light. Leaving your camera or film in direct sunlight or hot environments can cause damage. We are not responsible for issues caused by improper storage or handling.

4. Non-Returnable Items

Because our kits contain consumable and personalized elements, the following items cannot be returned:

Disposable cameras
Photo prints
Prompt cards
Digital downloads

5. Subscription Cancellations

If you have a subscription, you may cancel anytime before your next billing date to avoid future charges.
Charges for orders that have already been processed cannot be refunded.

6. Refund Timeline

If a refund is approved, it will be issued back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
